Fullerton, California, was buzzing with creativity and joy on Saturday, March 7, as the Great Kids Art Exhibit opened its doors to showcase the incredible talent of young artists. Hosted by the All the Arts for All the Kids Foundation, this vibrant event attracted approximately 100 visitors who were eager to celebrate the talents of children from the local community.
The atmosphere at the gallery was nothing short of inviting. Visitors were greeted with a relaxed vibe that allowed them to fully appreciate the creativity on display. It was a beautiful day, and the combination of colorful art, friendly faces, and lively music created a sense of community and excitement. To enhance the festive mood, a talented two-piece band named “10 by Two” performed throughout the event, featuring Bob Aul on upright bass and Pete Colby on electric guitar, filling the air with sweet melodies and energizing rhythms.
The All the Arts for All the Kids Foundation has been a strong force in promoting art education since its establishment in 1992. Partnering with the Fullerton School District, the foundation has designed art lessons that reach around 10,500 children from kindergarten through sixth grade. Through its programs, the foundation aims to provide innovative and curriculum-related arts experiences conducted by professional artists. Kids have the opportunity to explore various artistic disciplines, including art, music, dance, and theater, allowing them to express their creativity in many exciting ways.
With the recent acquisition of a dedicated space in downtown Fullerton in November of the previous year, the foundation has seen a surge in demand for its programs. This newly found space allows for greater access to the arts, fostering creativity among children and possibly in the future, for adults and teens as well. As the foundation continues to grow, it aims to expand its offerings even further, ensuring that everyone in the community has the chance to engage with the arts.
Looking ahead, the foundation has some thrilling plans lined up! During the Fullerton School District Spring Break from March 17 to 21, they will be hosting daily arts classes for kids. And that’s not all; this summer, an “Arts Adventure Camp” is set to take place, promising an adventurous and creative summer experience for aspiring young artists.
At the heart of the foundation’s mission is the desire to make the arts accessible to all children in the community. Lauralyn Eschner, the Creative Director of the foundation, regards this initiative as “a heart project,” reflecting the deep commitment to enriching the lives of children through arts education. With approximately $3 million raised so far, the foundation is a testament to the community’s belief in the importance of arts education.
